The Euthaniads
It is 2094, and Yotto and Dieter work for a government assisted-dying service as ‘Euthaniads’ – death-aids who meet each applicant’s dying wish without influencing their ultimate decision.
Mikayla Prior finds the service and applies to die. When she reveals her reason for doing so Yotto and Dieter respond very differently.
A three-act play about how mental illness intersects with euthanasia, and asks what professionalism, bureaucracy, and empathy look like when death is just another job.
WALTER
Mary and Dean are married. Dean has crippling OCD surrounding home security. Mary does not understand– but their home is invaded. A four-hander about how relationships fair under the weight of mental ilness.
The Hoi Polloi Butyric
SIBLIN6S
A post-dramatic two-hander about a little boy who develops OCD, and his relationship with his mum over twenty years.
It is told by two characters, Sarah and Thon, who must endure the affliction of OCD. While heavy, the play is a black comedy using bawdiness and irreverence to broach OCD and combat the shame of it.
Below is a gallery of an early six-page reading of Andy & the Dog at La Mama Scratch Night early July 2023. Photography taken by Darren Gill.
After DAD has died, his six disparate children (a bride, a priest, a housewife, a Weimar Republic sex worker, a Hunter S. Thompson look-alike and a Prussian blank clerk) all return home to collide, connive, grieve, and celebrate with each other through loss, love and death. A surreal play about very different people coming from different places. A meditation on history, ageing and death.
